Back...With Tales of Adventure!

As the title says...we are back. For those of you who didn't know, Casey and I have been in Africa for two weeks with my family and another family on vacation. I didn't want to broadcast our absence on the world wide web while we were gone! We just got back yesterday and we're all in one piece, which is more than I can say for Casey's stone-carved elephant - that is another story for another time. I have not had time to sort through or even download any pictures yet otherwise I would have shared one with you today, but be looking for those soon. As for other details of the trip, that will have to wait as well...but not long. For now, here's some stats:

Number of flights: 13

Number of lost bags: 1 (Casey's - now recovered!)

Number of mosquito bites: 0 (yesssss!)

Number of pictures we took: 780

Number of days it rained: 1 (we had wonderful weather)

Number of animals we saw: lots - I didn't keep count! But we did see all of the big 5, which are elephant, rhinoceros, cape buffalo, lion, leopard.

Welcome Home! I agree with Becky it seemed way longer than 2 weeks. I can't wait to see all of your pictures. So cool on your animal sightings - they are one of the main reasons Jake and I really want to go to Africa - maybe when we retire. :) We can live through you right now. :)

Sounds like a wonderful trip! I'm hoping to go down to Zimbabwe and South Africa sometime in the next year to see Mike's family. Can't wait. :)
