Progress

We're making progress in our bathroom remodel project. As you can see, the shower and tub are completely done and fully functional. Actually, the shower door handle will be replaced because the one pictured was not the one we wanted. But, that's just a detail - I am so glad that this part of the process is complete. Starting with a virtual blank canvas and trying to get everyone on the same page with measurements and specifications was a bit of a headache. The plumber and the tile contractor basically had to build this part of the bathroom from scratch and of course, things had to be changed (sometimes more than once) along the way, but it's done and it's the way we wanted it, so we're happy.

The next phase is getting the cabinets, countertops and finishing touches installed. We picked up our new toilet this past weekend and we ordered the cabinets about 2 weeks ago. They said they could take up to 5 weeks to come in and then after that we'll order the countertops. So, we're almost there - just a little while longer and then we'll move back in and enjoy!

it's looking good! just curious- do you have any plans for a window covering (besides the blinds) above the tub? That is an unusual shaped area so I wondered if curtains would even fit.

yes, i do have plans for a window covering - it's hard to see in the picture, but i will probably hang something from the top of the window. i don't like the blinds, either, because we need them at least semi-shut for privacy, but then they block out all the nice sunshine!

maybe you could frost the glass! I've always loved that look.

Love it, Rach! We need to come visit again. I'd love to see how you guys have made your house a home in the last few years.

Hey Rachel! Congrats on the bathroom remodel. Brandon and I bought a fixer-upper and have been doing a total house remodel for the past year. It's quite a learning experience isn't it?

Your bathroom looks great! I'm way jealous of your large bathtub :)

Love the bathroom. Bathroom renovation was the first thing Jake and I did when we moved in to our house. but that is because we had the most hideous looking bathroom ever! It screamed 80s. 80s had good music but terrible style!! I hope it never comes back. Now our bathroom is so calm and serene and now is being overtaken by The Kimbo! Love your bathroom. May it be a peaceful haven to you and Casey!
