This week I have been cleaning out everything. I'm one of those people who gets kind of claustrophobic when we get too much stuff in our house. I just have to get rid of all the things we're not using, will never use, are broken, old, etc. I am not a pack-rat at all and I get such relief from throwing or giving stuff away. Only once or twice have I even remotely regretted getting rid of something - in most cases I don't give it a second thought. So my trash bin is full, Goodwill is stocked up and my closets and cabinets are in good shape. Whew!

I'm with you on this! I don't do it as often as I would like, but I find great satisfaction in cleaning out, throwing away, giving away. I would much rather have an organized, emptier closet than one bulging with stuff I will never use. That is one reason moving is good, since it gives a chance to completely clean out the house while packing. The bad thing is, stuff seems to keep piling up no matter how often I clean it all out. It's a never ending process. But I am starting to be more picky about what I bring into the house to begin with.
I so totally agree. One of the best feelings in the world is looking at my closet after I have cleaned out all of my clothes, shoes and other things that I don't use anymore. It always looks so orderly and neat.
Rachel, have you ever tried giving away your stuff on Freecycle.com? I signed up for the Wylie group & gave away some bathroom decor & paint. Basically, if you have something you'd like to give away, you can post a message to the group & then choose who you want to give it away to. On the flipside, if you're looking for something that someone else might not need anymore, you can either request it from the group or just wait & see what offers get posted. Hmmm... I think I'm going to make this my next blog topic. Good stuff!
Oops... I mean www.freecycle.org
