When you're in school it's like a full-time job. And sure, there's great things about being in school, especially college. But I've discovered over the last 3 1/2 years that there are just a few things about working that are so much better than school.
1. When you have a "snow day" you don't have to make it up in June. Woohoo!
2. They pay you to be there and sometimes even when you're not (vacation).
3. There's no homework! (At least at my job.)
4. They have free stuff in the kitchen (soda, coffee, hot chocoate, etc.) and the occasional free lunch.
5. No tests = no studying!

I much preferred work to school. And I loved school! Most of the time.
But I loved my job more - loved that my days flew by, loved being a part of our church family in that way, LOVED that they paid me.
This new job - this missionary thing - we definitely don't have it figured out yet. Truthfully, there are days when we long for our American jobs that we knew how to do so well...
But then, the beach pretty much balances that out.
