This weekend I accomplished a lot and felt like I had time to relax also, which makes the weekend a success in my book.
Friday I did boring things like run a few errands, work out, and do laundry. I made grilled chicken sandwiches with avocado slices on top for dinner. I had sort of been looking forward to that all week.
Saturday I helped my friends, Mary and Jason, paint a room in their new house. Last February (2006), when Casey and I finished painting our master bedroom, I swore I would not paint again - ever. But time has softened that stance and I picked up a roller again and painted - without hating it. I had fun, actually. I really love the part where you take down all the tape and tarps and really get to see the finished product. It really is amazing what a can (or two) of paint can do!
Saturday night we went out to eat with Casey's parents and his sister and her boyfriend at Pappadeaux. I had the cedar plank salmon, which was delicious, but next time I go, I think I'm going to just have the crab cakes for my entire meal - they are so good!
After church on Sunday, Casey and I ate on the patio of Gloria's and then spent the rest of the day relaxing and reading. I'm right in the middle of the Mitford series now, and I really enjoy "visiting" the town every time I sit down to read.

Mmmmm, avocado slices. Avocado seems to make almost any meal better. It's one of my favorites.
I knew you would get hooked on the series. I had a hard time at first getting into them-and then I started to get to where I could not wait to take a trip to Mitford for a bit. I wish I could still go there but I am done with the series. :(
I always get the crab cakes at Pappadeaux...they are so good!!
Glad you had a good weekend...
