Casey made fun of me the other day for using the words modus operandi and auspicious in one car trip. He's been using them both as often as he can ever since.
I really take for granted things that I shouldn't - like how great it feels not to have a sore throat or how nice it is to be able to walk around without crutches. These are, of course, only the small things I take for granted.
It never ceases to amaze me that people who drop by our office without an appointment at lunch time are surprised to discover that almost no one is in the office at that time.
Why do chapsticks come in a concave shape so that you have to wear them down by several applications before they are actually comfortable to use on your lips?
What would be wrong with a 4-day work week? Really, I think it could work.

At the gym this morning, several ladies and I were all discussing the benefits of a 4 day work week...
ditto to the lunch comment also!
Amen to the four-day work week. My boss is so particular about working 40 hours each week. Even if I'm sitting in the office doing nothing, he still wants me here for 40 hours. What a waste of time for me, and waste of money for him!
Seems like the lunch thing is a catch 22 to me. Most of us have to run errands during our lunch and yet we cannot expect others not to take lunch. But most of us are only looking toward our own needs.
I love the four day workweek idea.
Either that, or nap time during the business day.
Oh, heck - as long as we're wishing for stuff, how about BOTH?!
I'm glad to know it's not just me who gets dropped in on during the lunch hour! The phone calls, drop ins, never cease to amaze me at lunch time. Although I must confess, I have been guilty of it myself, making a phone call and not realzing what time it is.
I would like to have a lunch hour!
I know, I have a lot of other perks being at home with the kids, but a lunch hour isn't one of them.
If it makes you feel better, Becky, I can't remember the last time I actually took a whole hour for lunch without having some bit of work I had to get done or some errands I had to run! Ok, I did take a whole hour the day I was reading Harry Potter.
Years ago, Drew's group went to a compressed work week, so that they were supposed to have every other Friday off.
Then the boss scheduled meetings on the 'off day', and eventually, they got more hours out of the employees!
