Sending the Wrong Message?

My choir and voice teachers always told me that you should over-pronounce words when you sing. Look what happens when you sing "Send the Light" at church (as we did last Sunday) and the entire congregation doesn't follow the rule...

"Send the lie, the blessed gospel lie. Let it shine from shore to shore. Send the lie, the blessed gospel lie. Let it shine forever more."

Obviously nearly everyone singing that song knows the true words - and they're written up on the screen as well. But, it sort of makes me giggle every time we sing it nonetheless!

I like to over emphasize the "T" in this song. It makes me laugh too.

Chris makes me laugh when we sing songs that have s's in them. The s sound goes on FOREVER!

You do have to be careful if you do that with a microphone though.

"Send the li <BOOM!>"

The one that always gets me is "there is powr, powr, powr in the blood", I try to emphasize and make sure I sing power so I say pow-er. Sorry I missed the laugh last Sunday.

That is like with CareKids this past year. We sang Light the Fire and it came out Light the farrr in my soul. It was so funny! You could surely tell we were from Texas!!
