A Fair Day

Everyone is taking a day off to go to the fair this week. I feel left out. That's sort of the problem with taking all of your two weeks of vacation at once (except that Africa and the fair don't really compare). I haven't been to the fair in years. Just in case you don't know what I'm talking about - it's the State Fair of Texas. The one with corn dogs, funnel cakes, cheesecake on a stick (everything on a stick) and just about anything else you might want to eat. Oh, and they have rides and exhibits for those times that you're not eating. And Big Tex. Who had a very short stint as Santa Claus, by the way, before he got made over to be Big Tex. And the weather has been so great lately - or so I hear. I get to sample it on the way into and out of my office building. If you go to the fair, eat something for me and let me know how it was - I must live vicariously through you this year - unless I can talk Casey into going on a Saturday - probably the worst day to go to the fair.

I love the fair! We are going later in the month one night after work with some family. The weather this morning was really nice!

I can't WAIT to go to the fair. We usually try to go on a weekday when it's "3 canned goods will get you in" day. And you're right- the food is the best part! We use all our tickets on food. It's kind of hard to spend a long time there with all these little kids of ours, but they enjoy it too.

Mmmmm fried everything!

P.S. My word verification is "yahawpuf," kind of sounds like a Harry Potter term.

I heard that Sunday will be a good time to go since the Cowboys will be playing the Patriots. If you're a big Cowboys fan and I have offended you, I'm sorry...just trying to make a suggestion. :)
