At work:
An older gentleman on the elevator: "It's a boy, right?"
Me: "Yes, it is. How did you know?"
Gentleman: (shrug and smile)
At the grocery store:
Check-out clerk (woman): "Is that your first?"
Me: "I'm sorry?" (confused)
Clerk: "Is that your first?" (looking at my mid-section)
Me: "Oh. Yes, it is."
Clerk: "It's a boy, right?"
Me: "Why, yes it is."
At Central Market:
Male shopper (two little boys in his cart): "Are you sure you're ready for this?" (to Casey, while gesturing toward his sons)
Casey: "Well, it's a little late to turn back now!"
Shopper: "We have five boys and these two are only 11 months apart." (think about that for a minute, will you?)
Casey: "Wow!" (not sure what else to say)
Shopper's wife: "Yours is a boy, right?"
Casey: "Yes. How does everybody know?"
Shopper's wife: "She still has hips."
Apparently strangers are also very good at guessing the gender of your baby.

How interesting that everyone knows it's a boy! Especially the old man in the elevator! Good thing you are pregnant. I have known a few people who get asked when they're due and they're not even pregnant!
I was thinking about all the random conversations I have had since being pregnant earlier!
Of course, I keep getting the "It's a girl right?"
That is really funny! I wonder how they all know he's a boy--I don't understand how your hips would have anything to do with the gender:)
For some reason, strangers feel like pregnancy is an open invitation to initiate conversation. Just beware though ... the belly touching will start soon. I can't tell you how much I hated that!
