A Love Story

There's something sweet in standing beside one of your oldest friends when she marries the man she loves. This weekend I got to do that. Meredith and I have known each other since kindergarden and graduated high school together. There are hardly any of my photo albums that don't contain dozens of pictures with her and few major life events that we haven't shared. She was also one of my bridesmaids.

What was also so beautiful about this wedding (besides the bride) was the testimony of God's love and faithfulness to his children. Meredith and her new husband, Afshin, can't help but proclaim the love of Jesus not only in the words they speak but also in the way they love their friends, family and each other. And their wedding was spectacular because it was the culmintation of an almost 8-year relationship and a true love story. Meredith and Afshin dated for several years after high school and then broke up...for a few years. But God brought them back together again and this wedding was a true celebration of the joy they feel in their union. It was seriously one of the most joyful and worshipfull (is that a word?) ceremonies I've ever attended.

I got to see Casey in a suit again, which is a plus because I love it when he wears his suit. And the food...oh, the food I've had all weekend. A post in and of itself. But, I'm exhausted. And I miss the boy. I've spent the better part of the last two days doing wedding party things, which were so much fun. But I can't party like I used to! I need rest.
