I think it is so important for grandmothers to tell their children that they are doing a good job as a parent. I have been on the receiving end of this from both my mom and my mother-in-law and it really does encourage me. I have only put one baby toe into the huge pool of parenting so far and I can already see how valuable the little phrase, "you're doing a great job," can be. I feel like I have been pretty sure of myself in many ways, but there are other things that make me wonder in the back of my mind if that is the best thing to do. And I've already realized that sometimes it may be the best thing and sometimes it may just be good enough. And sometimes it may even be the wrong thing to do. But getting praise from the pros infuses confidence and mutual respect. Mom and Donna...thanks!

I'm right there with you! It is so wonderful to hear a "You're doing a great job" every now and then! I get this from my mom, my mother-in-law and my sister - all great mothers!! We are on a massive learning curve and every bit of encouragement helps!
