It Has Begun

Photobucket

The packing, that is. Actually, it's in full swing. The dining room and table are "packing central" since that room and the living room are the closest to the front door where we'll be taking everything out to the truck.

Man, I hate packing. But I think I will hate unpacking even more. It will take longer, I know that. I am both excited about and dreading the process of finding a new place for all our stuff to go. Excited because there is more storage and dreading it because it just takes time. Especially with a "little helper." During the packing, I've been doing a lot while he naps and some while he is awake. He does better if I give him his own box to play with because otherwise he tends to like to take things out of boxes rather than put them in.

And I'm beginning to realize the delicacy that will be needed to transport our furniture on moving day. See the curved glass I've pointed out in the photo above? That's on an antique china cabinet, which is a hand-me-down from my parents. I love that china cabinet....and I'd hate to have to replace that glass.

One great thing about packing is that I get to clean out our stuff. If I don't feel that it's worth packing, transporting, and unpacking, then we're not keeping it.

We always use moving as the opportunity to get rid of all the unnecessary clutter that we collect over the years too! Unfortunately we are staying here for awhile longer, so I am going to have to find another excuse to purge!
