Arachnophobia

This morning on my way to work (in my car) I noticed something in my peripheral vision near my door. So, turning my attention to the floor of my car, I saw a spider about the size of a nickel running along the side of my seat! Thank goodness I was stopped at a red light because I promptly killed the spider with my shoe, although the execution was difficult considering I couldn't move from a sitting position. This thoroughly creeped me out. What's worse than being inches from a spider? Being in a relatively small enclosed space with one inches from you, perhaps? I don't know why I don't like spiders - I just don't. And I can't get the image out of my head of that spider running up my leg in the car. Ewww!

Spiders and their relatives are totally gross (shudder). My parents often tell the story of their honeymoon when a tarantula ran across my dad's lap while driving their rental car in Hawaii. They didn't see where it went, and never saw it again. How creepy!

I had the same thing happen to me recently! I was driving along, and suddenly there was a spider dangling by a thread from my window seal, hovering just a few inches from my hand. I managed to take my shoe off while driving, thankfully I was wearing flip flops, and smashed it dead. Totally freaked me out.
