Spring in Full Swing

By the blooms on the Bradford Pear trees, I can tell that spring is here! I love when the trees start blooming and there is a long row of Bradford Pears in my parent's neighborhood that particularly reminds me of a scene from one of my favorite movies and books, Anne of Green Gables. It's in the very beginning after Matthew has picked Anne up from the train station and they are traveling by horse and buggy back to Green Gables. On the way, they pass through what the locals call The Avenue - a grove of apple trees in bloom at the time. Anne decides that it should be called White Way of Delight because "It's the first thing I ever saw that couldn't be improved upon by imagination." I love that.

Another sign of spring is the fact that I'm able to use the grill for dinner because of the lovely weather and the few extra hours of daylight. I love grilled food for some reason. Maybe it reminds me of camping or cooking out on the sailboat on our family vacations. Or maybe it's just good. Anyway, my favorite tools for grilling are olive oil and Tony Chachere's seasoning. I've got all I need right there.

I've got 2 bottles of Tony Chachere's seasoning that I got free from The Grocery Game, but I haven't used them yet. I'll have to try it this spring...

We got eight inches of snow yesterday. No signs of spring for me... Go figure. We do have a nice patio for grilling, and I'm looking forward to it! Enjoy your yummy grilled treats and beautiful spring weather!!
