Back To School

For me, this means a self-taught refresher course on Photoshop. I took a semester-long class in college in which we learned how to use many of the capabilities of Photoshop. The problem is that was 5 years ago and I haven't used it since. So, I have purchased my "text book," The Photoshop Elements 5 Book for Digital Photographers by Scott Kelby, and I'm ready to learn. A brief preview of the book brings all sorts of things flooding back into my brain; however, there is much yet to learn. Also, I have discovered that this sort of thing takes discipline...and time...and practice because I hope to dig deeper into Photoshop than I did in my college course. I will say that this book is really user-friendly. It doesn't assume that you know all the photoshop lingo, but it doesn't treat you like you just picked up your first digital camera either. Next, I tackle web design. Maybe. Probably not! Even though that is on my list of things I really wish I knew how to do. Right now, I know just enough to be dangerous, which is not nearly enough at all.

Enjoy the book! I have CS2, so I will have to find a different one -- does that author/publisher make another version?

That is awesome! Never stop learning!

My goal is ballet, which has been temporarily put on hold, what with the whole "saving for a house" thing. :)

Yes, there is a version of this book for CS2 - just search the author's name in Amazon and I'm sure it will pop up!
