My Childhood Home
The other day, I drove by the street where my parents very first house is located and I started thinking about all the memories I have of that house. I was brought home from the hospital to that house and we moved out when I was about 5 years old, so whatever memories I have are a bit fuzzy. I remember having a tire swing on a huge tree in the backyard. I remember our next door neighbors (Mary and Eddy) who were older, retired folks who entertained me and my brother on many occasions. I think my mom told me that I would go over there and ask for a drink of water all the time. It must have seemed like I couldn't get anything to drink at home! We also had friends down the street a few houses who had children almost the exact age as me and my brother. I think we gave the chicken pox to each other at one point. The other memories I have I know come from pictures of that house and the birthday parties we had there and the yellow curtains that were hanging in one of our rooms. I graduated from high school at the church just down the street from that house. I guess that was one of life's full circles.
