What I Didn't Know About Pregnancy

I went into the whole pregnancy thing just about as informed as I possibly could be. If there is information out there, I want it. That is not exclusive to pregnancy, by the way. I am definitely not an ostrich-type (bury my head in the sand) when it comes to doing something new. Therefore, there was only ONE thing that surprised me about pregnancy...that my belly button would never look the same. It seems completely logical and I can't believe that I didn't think of it, but apparently this is true for me. I knew the stomach region would be forever altered among several other changes, but it never occurred to me that I wouldn't recognize my belly button even after getting down to my pre-pregnancy weight. I don't even remember what it looked like! I'll have to consult pictures and then come to terms with my new belly button.

I so understand what you are saying! I have often been standing in the front of the mirror, playing with my belly button these days. I try to make it look like it did before I was pregnant. I think to myself, if I had strong abs, my belly button would return to normal. Then, I suck in to make myslef appear more toned, and the "BB" doesn't change. My skin was just too stretched out to return to normal. I can't wait to see what it looks like when I'm done having children! ;)

It will never look the same again! Mine changed a little bit with all 4 of my kids!

I totally agree with the belly button comments. I knew it would change while I was pregnant, but I guess I assumed it would then go back to 'normal'

Hey Rachel -- this isn't about belly buttons, but I was just thinking about your photo question earlier today -- another factor you might consider is your ISO. If you're not trying to make a big enlargement of your picture, try setting the ISO high, like at 800, which will give you more latitude to have a higher shutter speed. The picture will be grainier, but grainier and in focus is usually better than fine grain and blurry. :-)
