Thanksgiving 2010

For Thanksgiving this year, we went to my parents' lake house and then to Waxahachie to Casey's grandparents' house. I really had such a great time this year. We traveled. We not only survived...we actually relaxed. And I so enjoyed spending time with family and introducing Logan to two sets of his great-grandparents that he'd never met before. Ethan was fun, Logan actually started sleeping through the night, and the food was fabulous.

My mom and I had both watched the Pioneer Woman's Throwdown episode with Bobby Flay the week before Thanksgiving, and we decided to use some of her recipes since we were looking to try something new anyway. My mom brined and cooked the turkey using her methods and made her dressing and mashed potatoes. Everything turned out beautifully. And the spread at the Cookes was no different...delicious. Especially a certain pumpkin cheesecake with fresh whipped cream. Yum.

These photos below are only a few of the many I took. (Check out the full gallery on our photo website.)
