Favorite Food Blogs

I'm sitting here at the computer trying to pull together my menus for the week so I can go grocery shopping today. I am in the mood to shake things up a little and try some new recipes. Every once in a while I get in this mood, so I usually browse my favorite food blogs to see what everyone else is cooking.

Below are my favorite food blogs. They not only have solid recipes and great photographs of the food (which helps those of us who are visual types to get an idea of the finished product), but the vast majority (if not all) of their main dish recipes are accessible. To me, that means they are doable for a regular home cook like myself. They don't require any weird ingredients and they generally take less than an hour to make from start to finish (my ideal time would be 30 mintues or less, but sometimes it is worth a little extra time for a special new recipe).

Beware...browsing these blogs will make you hungry.

Pioneer Woman Cooks: Everyone knows about this blog, but it's because she posts consistently great recipes. I love the section on cowboy food because my husband likes all those recipes too.

Picky Palate: Delicious, inventive, and people-pleasing recipes that are easy. Yes, please.

Annie's Eats: I just found this blog the other day while looking for a specific recipe. Love it already. I am going to have to try the Mushroom Herb Mac n' Cheese...it sounds delicious.

Bakerella: Another well-known blog, but her creativity is unmatched with her sweet creations. I could look at her cute cake pops all day. But I'd rather eat them.

Bake at 350: If you need ideas for sugar cookies, she's your gal. Amazing eye candy too...even if you never bake anything. But you'll want to.

My Baking Addiction: Another new one for me, but Nutella Cupcakes? I'm sold. There are some great recipes on here...not just sweets either.

So what did I decide to make this week?

Here are the new recipes I selected (to be mixed in with a few old favorites):

Ooh! Thank you so much!!! I love PW and Bakerella, but I didn't know about the rest of them. My problem is I spend tons of time reading through them, making all these plans to make stuff, and then I just end up cooking the same three things... when I cook... I did try PW's pizza dough recipe though. It was okaaay... but I'm looking for a better one. If you have one let me know!

Rach- have you ever gone to allrecipes.com? It is a recipe site that sometimes has pics, but what I like about it, is the reviews. Most of the recipes I have gotten from them (which is a TON) they have over 100 reviews, and most often the reviewers say how they altered the recipe. It is WONDERFUL!

I have to put in a plug for www.joe-the-baker.com :-)

I also love Whole Food's recipe site because it has lots of good vegetarian options!
