We now know the gender of this unborn child. This past week we had a sonogram to look at the baby's whole anatomy (brain, heart, kidneys, etc.) closely and specifically take a measurement of the fold at the back of the neck, which can indicate certain risk factors. But, the doctor also told us the gender of the little one, and...
Neither one of us is very surprised about this discovery and in fact, from the beginning I was sure it was a boy. I'm not going to lie and say that we weren't wanting a girl, because we were. And we are slightly disappointed that we won't have a daughter (this will probably be our last child). But we know we will be blessed by this little guy and now we just can't wait to meet him. After seeing him up close for about half an hour, we both talked about how we felt an instant connection to him. And we are so thankful that everything looked great and he seems healthy at this point. One potential problem...we had such a hard time coming up with a boy name last time and now we have to do it again!

Wow! You're sidebar ticker says you are 13 weeks and you already know it's a boy! That's exciting! We should totally switch kids for a day if I get tired of princess stuff and you get tired of cars and we need a break!
Yay!! Dane can have a little buddy in the nursery!! We found out at 13 weeks as well...it is fun to know so early!!

Rachel, that's great! I know you will love having boys around and I'm sure it will be great to see Ethan taking the reins as a big brother.
Aww - I wish I would have checked this before yesterday! Congratulations :)! I'm glad that Ethan will have a buddy to play with. I'm sorry for the disappointment. I think that's how Dustin and I will be also, if we don't have a girl as our second, but as you said about you and Casey, we will also love another baby boy just the same!
Yay! Congratulations, I know our baby will be so glad to have another sweet friend like Ethan in the nursery, I am guessing we have another boy for him to play with!
