Leaks, Leaks Everywhere

It was a plumbing kind of weekend for us. First, on Sunday morning, as we were getting ready for church, I walked into the kitchen barefoot and stepped right in a sizeable puddle of water. It turns out that the water filter the previous owners had left at the back of the fridge broke at one end...thus the water leak. Thankfully, we don't need an additional water filter since our refrigerator has one too. So Casey just removed it and we cleaned up the mess, which took 4 full size towels to soak up. And we missed bible class.

Then, we finally replaced the toilet in the boys' upstairs bathroom (the one we recently renovated) because the bolts inside the tank were totally rusted out and caused the tank to leak. We have been aware of this problem for about 6 months now and have just had the water turned off to that toilet the whole time. Our original plan was to just pop some silicone around the rusted out bolts and call it a day. But Casey convinced me to just go ahead and replace the toilet for a newer one that is actually water efficient. This is the third toilet we've replaced by ourselves since we've been homeowners and I think we've got the process down now. Casey did most of the work, though.

And we also replaced the drain stopper in the tub that has not held water since we moved into the house. This is also in the boys' bathroom and is the tub we use for Ethan's baths. So every bath he's had for a year has not really held the water very well....it would drain slowly the whole time, which is very annoying. I am so thrilled that this is no longer the case. I'm also thrilled that our plumbing projects that have been hanging over our heads for a while are done (I hope).
