Powder Bath Before & After

I mentioned in my last post that I would post pictures of the downstairs half bathroom right off the living room. I also mentioned that it was the first room I renovated/decorated when we moved in to this house. I picked it first for a couple of reasons...first, we use it all the time and so do guests, and I could not stand the wallpaper in there. The second reason was that it is the smallest room in the house and would therefore be a quick and relatively cheap fix.

I didn't take actual "before" pictures because I started peeling that wallpaper almost the day after we moved in. No joke. But here are some "during" pictures. You can still get the idea of what it looked like.

And here's what it looks like now. After these changes: stripped wallpaper, textured walls to match rest of house, new paint (SW Upward), new faucet, new mirror, new light fixture, new towel ring and toilet paper holder, new wall decor, new switchplates (they used to be brass), and added crown molding.

The only thing left to do is to rip up that carpet (which never belongs in a bathroom even if there is no shower or tub) and put in tile flooring. We've procrastinated on that.
