Office Plans

Like I mentioned yesterday, we have done a few small things to my new "office" recently. And beyond that, I'm making plans for the rest of it.

We have a spare bedroom upstairs that, so far, has been used as a general dumping ground for things that have no other place. The plan has always been to turn that space into a home office for me. It would also make an awesome guest room...and I briefly considered doing that. But, we hardly ever have out of town guests and I would use my office almost every single day.

Here's the room "before":

Since those "before" photos were taken, I have changed out the ceiling fan for a white one. The room has been painted (Benjamin Moore's White Dove). It really is a blank slate. I chose white because I still often shoot my boys and other children in this room and any kind of color on the walls casts a color on a subject's skin. I love the white walls...and bringing in color with fabrics and accessories.

I pulled together an idea board (with the help of my Pinterest office board) for this room. The board has helped me sort of see how things would look together. I may or may not use all of these exact elements, but I think the overall look will be the same.
