The Middle of August

Honestly, I cannot believe it is the middle of August already. Where did the summer go? Despite the fact that it passed quickly (apparently), we sure packed ours full of fun. I had some plans of what I wanted to do with the boys during these three months, and we did most of it. The things we didn't do were moved aside in favor of just hanging out and relaxing together, which is always a good thing!

We just got back (yesterday) from spending 5 days at the lake house with my parents. My dad celebrated his birthday on Saturday with family who all came out there for a fabulous grilled salmon dinner. The salmon was caught a little more than a week earlier on my dad's fishing expedition to Alaska. Talk about fresh! So, today, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. It's not easy.

I still need to look at (and share) our photos from our family "vacation" to the lake house that we took two weeks ago. It was wonderful and we had the best time. I only took photos one of the days...and I did that on purpose. More about that later.

And I will have a special delivery for my office tomorrow! It's something I bought on sale during the 4th of July weekend. So, I've been waiting on it for more than a month! I'll share more about that later too.

Logan had his second birthday party two Saturdays ago. I need to process those photos too. It was a fun little party at which he received some very fun gifts. Gifts that are the center of attention at our house these days. And I still need to take his 2 year photos. Preferably before he's 2.5 or 3.

I am trying to wrap my brain around the fact that Logan will be starting preschool in a couple of weeks. Actually, I think I'm trying to remain in denial about that fact. Ethan will be going too, of course...his last year of preschool. There is a little silver lining to all this growing up that they're doing (without my permission)...I will have 4 hours every Tuesday and Thursday morning to myself for the first time ever (on a regular basis). In thinking about that, I have never once asked myself "what will I do with myself?" I know exactly what I will do. At the very least I can eat bonbons!

Oh yes, bonbons! That is what we housewives do with time on our hands! Haha!
